Benton State, a public university in a multicultural community, adopts a multilingual policy on campus. Debate ensues between supporters of the policy who applaud this recognition of diversity and those who oppose the policy as a faddish attempt to be politically correct. The Committee on Multilingual and Multicultural Relations must develop guidelines for policy implementation and suggest protocols for interpersonal relations where language and cultural differences are involved.
